Our First Play Day in Sedona
We held our first NAYL play day in Sedona on September 27th, and it was a blast.
Nearly 50 kids from our Flagstaff Astros, Prescott Outlaws and Verde Valley Vortex played 15 games across three fields at Posse Grounds Park. More than 100 people came out to play, coach, volunteer or watch. We started NAYL because Northern Arizona had no youth lacrosse league. Seeing kids from three communities playing together, with so many people there to support them, meant a lot to us.

The kids had fun, and we heard about it from them and their parents. That was what we most wanted from the day.

Fifteen games kept all three fields busy.
Current NAU women's and men's lacrosse players volunteered alongside our coaches and spent time with the younger players, too.

“It feels surreal that less than six months ago we decided to start a lacrosse league in Northern Arizona and we are already playing games and bringing so many people together,” said NAYL co-founder Molly Whitehead.
Thank you to the kids who played, the families who made the trip, and everyone who coached, volunteered or came to cheer. You made our first play day one we'll remember.
Thank you as well to our sponsors, BEND Hot Yoga, Arabella Hotel Sedona, FreeForm Coffee and Arizona Photo and Video. We appreciate your support for youth lacrosse in Northern Arizona.

Next up: Flagstaff on October 24th
We're already looking forward to our next play day on Saturday, October 24th, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at NAU South Recreation Fields in Flagstaff. Current NAYL players don't need to register separately. Families can also come early to watch the NAU women's lacrosse team play Arizona Storm at 1 p.m. See the play day details.
If your child wants to play lacrosse, we'd love to hear from you. Find your community team and registration options.
